EYE HELP ANIMALS, LLC and DEFENDERS OF WILDLIFE
are SAVING WILDLIFE TOGETHER

ALTON, NH, January 13, 2010: Eye Help Animals, LLC and Defenders of Wildlife have signed a Memorandum of Agreement and License Agreement that facilitates Eye Help Animals’ contributions to Defenders in support of their efforts to save and protect African lions.

Defenders’ African lion campaign, which addresses the poisoning of lions with carbofuran, a potent neurotoxin manufactured but banned from use in the U.S. by the Environmental Protection Agency, (EPA), spurred Eye Help Animals’ cofounders to contact Defenders of Wildlife. Carbofuran, a product that the EPA says is too toxic for use in the U.S. is threatening the last wild lions of the African plains with extinction. "Just a handful of carbofuran can kill an entire pride of lions," said Bob Irvin, Senior Vice President of Conservation Policy for Defenders of Wildlife. "Sadly, this awful poison can still be legally imported in to Kenya and other neighboring countries." Eye Help Animals LLC has committed to donating 10% of the retail price from sales of their African Lion Wildlife Eye Collectible Pins and a specially created “NO CARBOFURAN” campaign pin to Defenders under the terms of the agreement. Eye Help Animals will receive a link from the Defenders Marketplace to its website to promote sales of the pins.

EYE HELP ANIMALS, LLC and ZOO ATLANTA are SAVING WILDLIFE TOGETHER

ALTON, NH, August 25, 2009: Eye Help Animals, LLC and Zoo Atlanta have signed a Memorandum of Understanding outlining a simple Partnership Agreement to help fundraising efforts to keep their giant panda program in Atlanta. The cofounders of Eye Help Animals, LLC, DJ Geribo and Jim Fontaine are excited about the partnership formed with Zoo Atlanta.

Zoo Atlanta announced their “Give So They Stay” campaign on June 17, 2009, and need to raise $500,000 by the end of December, 2009. Their original 10 year giant panda lease agreement was about $1.1 million per year, zoo officials are hoping to negotiate a new lease at a much lower cost per year.  After hearing a news segment on a Maine NPR station about the campaign, Eye Help Animals cofounder Jim Fontaine contacted Marcus Margerum, VP of Marketing and Sales at Zoo Atlanta, to discuss how Eye Help Animals may be able to assist with their campaign.  The end result is that for the duration of their campaign, 25% of the profits from sales of Eye Help Animals Giant Panda Eye Wildlife Collectible Pins, available at www.EyeHelpAnimals.com, will be given directly to Zoo Atlanta’s “Give So They Stay” campaign.

Eye Help Animals, LLC, located in Alton, NH, was founded in 2008 by Jim Fontaine, owner of Positively Creative Solutions, LLC and his wife, professional artist DJ Geribo.

06/12/2009 - A Win-Win Partnership

Loon Preservation Committee Partners with Eye Help Animals, LLC

DJ and I have always known that Eye Help Animals is the right thing for us. Because we are working from our passions, the energy and excitement never wanes.

We were recently contacted by Alisoun Hodges, the Development Coordinator of the Loon Preservation Committee (www.loon.org). She wanted to know, “How can the Loon Preservation Committee be a part of what you’re doing?” DJ and I immediately knew that one of who you’ll hear us refer to as “our people” had found us!

Whether by chance or by fate (or, as we believe, by the law of attraction) a Loon Center employee noticed someone wearing one of our Bald Eagle Wildlife Eye Collectible Pins. Out of curiosity the employee asked where this person had gotten their pin. The individual wearing our Bald Eagle Pin (unknown to us) told the Loon Center employee about Eye Help Animals. The Loon Center employee in turn told Alisoun about the pin and Eye Help Animals and Alisoun found us through a web search on Google. Alisoun was astonished to learn that were also located in New Hampshire and called us. And, the rest, as they say, is history! After an initial telephone conversation that I had with Alisoun, DJ and I set up an appointment to meet with Alisoun and Rachel Williams at the Loon Center in Moultonborough, NH. We related our Mission and Vision and things were set in motion for the creation of a special edition of our Wildlife Eye Collectible Pins featuring the striking eye of the Common Loon.

Although the Common Loon is not considered an endangered species on a global scale, locally, in the State of New Hampshire, it is considered threatened.

The Loon Preservation Committee has spent 35 years protecting the loon and preserving habitat in New Hampshire. We are proud, excited, and honored to partner with a local organization that is so strongly aligned with our Mission and Vision. Please visit www.loon.org to find out more about this wonderful organization and their efforts to save and protect the loon. ”Saving wildlife together! is exactly what our partnership with the Loon Preservation Committee is all about.

03/28/2009 - Earth Hour

One hour without power.  How easy is that?

At 8:30PM EST, we turned off the main circuit breaker in our home to participate in Earth Hour.  The idea is simplicity in itself, but it can have a big impact when millions and possibly even billions of people and businesses around the world participate.

Earth Hour began in one city, in one country in 2007, when more than 2.2 million households and businesses in Sydney turned off their lights for one hour on Saturday 31, Saturday 2007.

In 2008, Earth Hour reached 370 cities and towns in more than 35 countries across 18 time zones, which prompted an estimated 50 to 100 million people around the world to switch off their lights for Earth Hour 2008 when global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge of San Francisco, Rome's Coliseum, the Coke billboard in Times Square New York and Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai, darkened for one hour.

The campaign has now become a global sustainability movement.

We're going to have our own 'hour without power' on a monthly basis from now on. It's a small act, but we believe all great things are accomplished by the cumulative effect of many small actions.

02/27/2009 - Bald Eagles

Do you realize that this majestic bird, the symbol of our Nation, was almost lost forever?

For over 200 years, the Bald Eagle has served as the proud symbol of the United States.  It was adopted as the national emblem by our country's Founding Fathers at the Second Continental Congress in 1782, and has since stood for independence, timeless ideals and a long tradition of excellence and integrity.

In the early 1960s we almost lost this beautiful bird due to our own carelessness.  It had once flourished in the lower 48 states, but became an endangered species due to years of indiscriminate shooting and widespread use of the pesticide DDT.

However our people and government became vigilant in its protection.  They worked resourcefully together for decades to bring the eagle back.  At last, they were successful.  Today, bald eagles have substantially expanded in virtually every state in the union.  The bald eagle was delisted from its Threatened status on June 28, 2007 in the lower 48 states.

Although the original reasons for almost losing this species are gone, the main concern for their continued recovery is now ensuring sufficient habitat.  Once again demonstrating the link between wildlife conservation and habitat preservation.

01/26/2009 - Saving wildlife together!

We're calling our 2009 fundraising efforts
our Saving wildlife together! campaign.

Our goal in this campaign is to sell 100,000 of our Wild Animal Eye Collectible Pins before December 31st, 2009.  And, we know we can do it with your help and ongoing support!

We are focusing on our Collectible Pins for many reasons, but the major one is that not only are our Wild Animal Eye Collectible Pins our Signature Product, but they are also our most affordable item.  At only $7.95, our pins cost less than:
  • a sandwich, chips, and soda
  • a matinee movie ticket
  • a dozen donuts
  • a regular car wash
  • a plain cheese pizza
And, don't forget — 25% of our profit goes directly to organizations that save and protect wildlife and habitat around the world!  Now, certainly that's got to make you feel better than what donuts or pizza will do to your waistline!  And, is your car really that dirty?

12/08/2008 - We've redesigned our Newsletter!

Family, friends, and loyal customers,

Our News & Information e-mails have been totally redesigned! They are now going to be sent in a new newsletter format and we've changed the name to the EyeHelpAnimals.com Eyes Alive Newsletter.  The new format makes them much easier to read and they are full of information about what we can do together to protect and save wildlife and wildlife habitat around the world!

We would like to ask that all of our supporters take a moment to fill out our simple subscription form on the right-hand side of our website.  We realize that many of you have already subscribed to our News & Information e-mail list and we thank you.  However, it has come to our attention that many of you are not receiving our News & Information e-mails.  This is most likely due to filtering that is being done by your ISP and/or e-mail provider.  Now, we are very conscientious about the content in the e-mails we send to our supporters, but our e-mails often contain links to other websites where you can take action on an issue, embedded pictures, and at times we extend offers such as FREE SHIPPING or a coupon for 10% OFF on our exclusive products.  Unfortunately, links, embedded pictures, and words such as FREE and 10% OFF often trigger filters that flag our message as SPAM even though you've requested to receive our e-mails!

Therefore, we are now in the process of switching over to a professional, managed, OPT-IN e-mail service.  This service will help us to ensure that our newly redesigned e-mail Newsletter is delivered to our loyal supporters and customers in the format intended with all content intact directly to your inbox.

In order to receive (or, continue receiving) our newly redesigned and beautiful Eyes Alive Newsletters, you must subscribe using the simple form on the right-hand side of our website.  You will then receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your request. (That's the OPT-IN part.)  And, we want you to know that we never share, rent, sell or otherwise expose your e-mail address to others. We use your e-mail address solely for sending you the information that you have asked to receive from us.

Remember, if you wish to receive (or, continue receiving) our Eyes Alive Newsletter after January 15th, 2009, you must fill out the form on the right-hand side of our website.

We will send several reminders before the 15th, but if you don't want to miss a single issue, then take a moment to fill out the form today!
